If your insurer or the Canadian Pension Plan won’t pay you disability benefits, it might be treating you unfairly. Take advantage of Sean Layden’s 19 years of legal experience fighting for the rights of Nova Scotians, with a free consultation on what your legal options are.

In our adversarial system of justice your insurance company doesn’t have to look out for your legal rights — you have to protect your own rights. Having an experienced lawyer will help you successfully stand up to insurance companies and access the monthly benefits you are entitled to while you are unable to work for medical reasons.

Adversarial Justice System

Our insurance system and justice system are adversarial in nature. The theory is that if both sides zealously advocate their side and only their side, the truth will surface as a product of this process. Therefore the insurers will fight hard to protect their interests, but who is looking out for your best interests in this system? This is why you can benefit from a lawyer. Let me help you protect your interests and add value to your situation.

No Upfront Fees Or Expenses

Not only would I like to help you, but I’m also very affordable. I do all my work on a contingency fee basis which means I don’t get paid until your case settles. In the meantime my office will finance the expenses required to move your case forward through the adversarial system. I think of it as real access to justice when no financial barriers exist.

$7500 Nova Scotia Cap on Minor Injury Car Accident Cases

Did you know that the cap on pain and suffering claims was tripled over a year ago by the Nova Scotia Government to $7500 for all car accidents that occur on April 28th, 2010 onward — if your injuries fall within the definition of minor injury in the legislation? This increased cap, along with the NDP revision of the definition of minor injury, means that your chances of getting fair compensation have gone up. It remains to be seen how these legislative changes will play out but you would be well served by contacting me to discuss the consequences of these recent changes further.

I currently have a full array of injured clients ranging from brain injuries, parapalegics, quadrapalegics, orthopaedic injuries, connective tissue injuries and psychological injuries.

Contact me at 1-902-460-3405 and level the playing field with your insurer.
